Greetings From North Branch Bluegrass Festival

North Branch Bluegrass Festival Grounds

Greetings from North Branch Bluegrass Festival!  My name is Heather Kennedy.  I’m a middle-aged techno-idiot trying to get the word out about our wonderful small central-vermont bluegrass festival.

Inventing this festival has been my fulltime job since October 2007.  Times were much different then.  Producing a festival from scratch to fulfill my husband Randy’s dream of bringing a festival here to his hometown of Bridgewater, Vermont looked a whole lot easier.  Happily we have survived two annual shows and are well on our way to producing our very best festival ever.  We’ve been busy implementing new plans for our 2010 labor day weekend, North Branch Bluegrass Festival.  We’ve expanded into a full week of camping and field picking this year, beginning Sunday August 29th.

The North Branch Festival grounds are the perfect place to do both.  Friday September 3rd begins the first day of our 3 day festival’s Main Stage show.  We’re looking forward to sharing 30 hours of professional show and 15 music workshops with everyone.  We invite you to check out our festival’s website http://NBBluegrass.com if you haven’t already.  Be sure to check this blog every few weeks or so as things are really coming together these days.

A partial list of our 2010 lineup is now available on our website. I’ve also just begun a Facebook site for photos and a Twitter thingamajig for fast ‘Hot News’ flashes.  Updates will come whenever we pass a festival milestone and I’m not outside shovelling snow or lugging in firewood.  So, I’m limping along here in cyberspace with technical help from my younger brother, Darrell Atwater.  Darrell left our New England moutains when we were young to go down south to college.  He owns and operates the wicked cool professionally guided international adventures travel company, No Limits Adventures.  If you’ve always wanted to go someplace exotic, he can make your dreams come true.  I begged him to help me with our website when I saw his (It’s http://nolimitsadventures.com and yes, he took all those incredible pictures).

So, please mark your calendars for 8/29/10-9/5/10 and plan on joining us here in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains.  We’re not greedy.  The festival and 8 nights of camping only costs $60.  If you can only come for the show weekend, we charge only $50 for 4 nights of camping, the 3 shows, and all 15 workshops.  Day tickets (No camping) are $20 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-15.  Bluegrass Babies ride along for free.  We’d appreciate it if you’d tell all your friends about us, too.

If you like music that makes your toes tap, food that makes your mouth water, campfires that warm your heart, and friends that make you smile….well…you belong at North Branch Bluegrass Festival.  Thanks for reading this whole blog.  Finest Regards, Heather Kennedy
